Celebrate the artistry of the UNM Symphony Orchestra in a grand finalé featuring virtuosic faculty soloists and a program of dynamic works. The evening begins with Wagner’s majestic Prelude to Die Meistersinger, conducted by Michael Sanderling, setting a stately and dramatic tone. Beethoven’s Triple Concerto follows, showcasing the extraordinary talents of faculty soloists Carmelo de los Santos (violin), Christoph Wagner (cello), and Falko Steinbach (piano) in a masterpiece of eloquent musical dialogue. To conclude, the orchestra performs Gershwin’s An American in Paris, a vibrant and jazz-infused work bursting with electrifying energy and rhythmic flair, bringing the evening to a thrilling close.
